Yes. Willard's Pest Control is fully licensed and insured to operate in Ontario. Our team is trained in safe, effective pest management practices while adhering strictly to professional standards and regulations.
While DIY pest control methods are available, they often provide only temporary results and can sometimes worsen problems if not done correctly. Professional exterminators bring expertise, access to advanced tools, and a thorough understanding of pest behaviour. Choosing an expert ensures your issue is handled safely, effectively, and with lasting results. Save time, stress, and money by choosing Willard's Pest Control for your peace of mind.
Treatments & Safety
Absolutely. In Ontario, the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) ensures that licensed pest control companies like ours can only use products approved by Health Canada, and we are required to follow all product label guidelines to ensure safe application. We've also gone above and beyond to seek out the newest, safest products available โ reducing risk even further. Finally, we follow an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach, which minimizes overall chemical use by educating clients on preventative measures they can take to proactively address pest issues. If any specific precautions are needed after a treatment โ such as keeping pets or children out of a treated area temporarily โ we'll always let you know in advance.
Most residential treatments take between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours depending on the pest and the size of your home. Commercial jobs may take longer. We'll give you a time estimate when you book.
It depends on the treatment. For most services, you can stay home. In the event that an insect infestation has occurred inside the home and a liquid application is the best treatment option, you may be asked to remain outside long enough to allow the products to dry. We'll let you know in advance so you can plan accordingly.
Nope! As long as you give Willard's permission to treat your home and property while you're away, we'll gladly perform our work as scheduled.
Treatment frequency depends on the specific program you decide to select. Our Insect Control Program should be applied a minimum of twice per year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall for the best results. If selecting our Rodent Control Program, best results are achieved with services being performed a minimum of 6 times per year when using conventional products or monthly with our pesticide-free program. Finally, if selecting our Mosquito & Tick Control Program, best results are achieved with a monthly application, however this is a seasonal program and runs from April to October.
As long as the product has been given adequate time to dry, rain should have little impact on its effectiveness. Our liquid products utilize "Micro-encapsulation" technology, protecting its particles from both liquid and UV degradation. This allows our products to continue working for months after an application.
Willard's Insect Control application has a three month residual that continues to work. Using specialized equipment, we apply our products to both your foundation and soffits ensuring multiple layers of protection for your home.
Pests
We treat over 22 common pests including ants, mice, rats, wasps, hornets, bed bugs, cockroaches, spiders, silverfish, earwigs, centipedes, fleas, ticks, and more. See the full list on our homepage.
Common signs include droppings (small, dark, and pellet-shaped), gnaw marks on food packaging or walls, scratching sounds in walls at night, and nesting material like shredded paper or insulation. If you're seeing any of these, call us early as mice reproduce quickly.
Wasp activity typically ramps up from late June through September in Eastern Ontario. Nests grow fastest in July and August which is when they're most aggressive. If you spot a nest forming in the spring, it's best to treat it early before the colony grows.
